 Kim is Back!
Kim celebrates her 40th anniversary of her first Irish gigs back in 1978 and 79 when she fronted the Kim Newport Band from 1978 through the end of 1983. Back in 2010 she released her first new singles in years: Girls
Night Out on the Sunset label followed with Somewhere Along the Way.

 In 2015 Kim was invited to be part of David Hull's "Do You Come Here Often" concert tour along with Philomena Begley, Muriel Day, Brendan Bowyer, Brendan Shine, Brian Coll, DJ Curtin and Bill McFarland. The tour included the Waterfront in Belfast, The Helix in Dublin and the Millennium in Derry and played to sold out crowds. It would actually be one of the last of the concert series. Click here for photos After the tour Kim returned to the United States where she was teaching music and dance in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Earlier this year, she retired from teaching and retuned to Sligo where she plans to record and tour again as well as teaching dance which she did back in the early 1980's with her Sligo School of Dance. Kim has also started work on a new Work has also started on a new CD to be released early in 2019.
  After
playing her last Irish date in the Baymount Entertainment Centre in
Strandhill, Co. Sligo in September, 1983, Kim moved to the
United States where in the intervening years she raised a family,
earned a Master's Degree in Education and taught fifth grade at Irmo
Elementary School.
During her years in the States, she also kept a hand
in entertainment, appearing in shows in the Town Theatre, the oldest community theatre in the United States as well as regular
involvement in children's entertainment in South Carolina.
